Compound fertilisers

The three most important components are nitrogen, phosphate and potassium. Nitrogen is most important for plant growth. The same is true of phosphate, but more particularly in the early development of the young plant, as it encourages root growth. Potassium gives strength and transportation for all elements.

Compound fertilisers always contain more than one element. Zuid-Chemie mainly produces compound fertilisers containing nitrogen (N), phosphate (P) and potassium (K), in other words the granular NPK compound fertilisers. Compound fertilisers containing only nitrogen and phosphate are called nitro phosphate fertilisers or NPs for short. Potassium phosphate, or PK, fertilisers contain only phosphate and potassium.
Also NK fertilisers are being produced by Zuid-Chemie. Next to the standard N-P-K elements, sulphur is becoming an important extra element. Most of our fertilisers contain some sulphur, but we can add more on your request.
